Too bad a lot of people around here aren't of drinking age, or at least wouldn't be in the States. Is it sixteen in most European countries, or does it vary?

That's what TPU Chat was in place for, a "social drink for the community". It was a good system, Dan learned about Indians drinking cow-urine there....(implies it was very laid-back).
Doesn't W1z live in the same town where Porsche's plant is? |

i don't think anything is wrong with your forums. i just got here and i see nothing but a good place to post and a place to share with others about our common interests. i tried another tech forum before this one but i like it here much better
mods being out of line, etc? thats par for the course at any free forum. no one pays to be here and no one is paid to do service for the site. mods are mods, users are users. i don't have to know this forum well enough to know most forums of this kind are all alike in that sense. its a bummer to get banned, yes. and when a mod is an idiot it makes you wonder "wtf." but its the internet, right? and this site is a lot of fun so f**k 'em if they can't take a joke ![]() but anyway i'm a newb here and just want to say as a newb i see and have no problems here. i like your site. rock on lol

i'm not saying that you were picking on me i'm saying that some of the posters in this forum blatantly post BS to every single little thing that says xxx is better than xxx if they have a problem with a thread don't read it. its pretty god damn simple if whomever doesn't like xxx company so GTFO of xxx's threads its not very hard.... its common sense IMO and when i get flagged for standing up for someone who can't post here anymore, but others can stand there and do absolutely nothing but turn a thread into a fucking bunch of fanboi nonsense then this really isn't the forum for me. so until this shit changes i'm out

Use your head. It's absolutely impossible to treat every situation equally and for every situation to get dealt with in the exact same amount of time. You say you don't think you're being picked on but then you complain you were dealt with in two minutes. Which is it? To think you are being picked on because you were reprimanded in two minutes as opposed two hours like calvary is absolutely ludicrous. I don't even know who in the world you "stood up for" so quit being paranoid, unless you're getting a kick out of creating drama. If you break the rules, you're playing with fire. It may take two minutes for a moderator to get to you or it may take two weeks. The time between the two has almost nothing to do with whether you're "liked or not". The only reason I even know who you are cdawall is because you've been here at least as long as I have and you've been a good active member. For the others that think the staff has all of your names memorized, can remember every little thing you've ever done and stalk you to catch every little mistake you make is pretty arrogant. We don't have time for that or even the desire. We have classes to take, jobs to do, and real friends to actually do things with just like you. The time it takes us to respond is 100% random. Who gets "punished" and how long it takes has more to do with when you post, how busy the staff is, where you post, and whether one of your fellow members reports you. I won't lie though, there are a few members we keep track of. However, they're all banned. The only reason we keep track of them is because they like to come back periodically and stir up trouble. If you can't understand that, then you're right. This isn't the forum for you, and I'm more than happy to help you leave if that's what you want.

Things are pretty Libra here. In most places they outright ban you when they learn you're opposed to 'general ideologies', or not falling slave to 'mass hysteria'. Trashentech is an example. When I tried to post something that was against 'popular belief', I was flamed, and 'threatened a ban'. Yes, it's that thread where Dan and Thermo's e-effigies were burnt. I was like FO, I'll delete my account myself. |

I would like TPU to use the slogan "Fanboi Free since whatever date" for the forums. Seriously.

![]() why, oh why, was this thread resurrected before we had gotten around to dumping the soil back over it? I mean, I've gone back and read the last 4 pages, and TBH - I don't see a point; truly. as to topics derailing - the mods let us get away with it a little more in GN than elsewhere; if the topic was in Graphics Cards of GH, usually there's a mod reminding us to get back on track within a few posts. As to a thread derailing that, IMHO, really didn't need to be here in the first place (no offense or resentment towards P_G for that thread, I hold {h} responsible); I don't see much wrong with it. The whole thread to begin with was meant to draw attention to the fact that P_G was banned from {h} because he broke a rule . . . a rule that {h} didn't see fit enough to make plainly visible to registering users. We have laws here in the US in regards to legal contracts that run along the lines that rules and conditions must be stated prior to a party agreeing to them. Businesses can change those rules and conditions if they reserver their right to, but any changes and they must inform the agreeing party to the changes; if you don't like the changes, you terminate the account as soon as possible and be on your merry way. If a rule or condition is not visible at the time of "agreeing" to said contract, it usually wouldn't hold up in court if that individual breaks said rule, and can provide evidence that the rule was not there at signing, nor was he ever informed of a change. Asides, it was underhanded, and pretentious of {h}, IMO - a mod/admin should've PMed P_G and informed him of the rule, and only given him a temporary ban for it; not a permanent. Furthermore, asking P_G to make that post here at TPU to try and show that they were justified in their actions (which, I figure that's why they wanted him to make that post), and to ensure that we users here don't immediately assume the ban was unjustified; only fuels the fire by drawing more attention to the issue, which means we have more users that are apt to see it and draw conclusions. I still stand by my reasoning; it was a fail on {h}, and only served to further taint the image of their message board in my eyes . . . and that's what they were trying to prevent. But, did we really need to drag this thread back up because of that GN thread? Seriously . . . and all this griping over people not getting along with other users . . . my opinion here, I don't have a single problem with any posting style of any users here (except for the only one I have ignored), and most users off-hand comments have never struck me as flamebait, or trolling. Trolling is obvious when it happens, and most users guilty of trolling don't limit themselves to single sentence comments aimed nowhere in particular . . . there's usually a quote, and then a few sentences targeting one specific user, sometimes a few. IMHO - everyone griping this time around just needs to grow some thicker skin.

They handled it the wrong way; much like many other forums would've. and, just to be blunt - that post you just made is excatly the same as the posts you were complaining about from other users a page or two back. That's quite hypocritical, IMO, and absolutely pointless.

GJS, no offense man, but if you think [H] is run better than TPU, why not just stay over there? Many of us don't feel that way, so leave us alone about it. We get it, you like [H]. That doesn't mean we have to. Quit crapping the thread my man.

Yep, I'm on Wile E's side about just staying over at the [H].
Please, for TPU's sake, stop referencing [H]'s rules here... and stop being like "well, over at [H]......" This is the TPU forums, not the [H] Forum! |
