Difference between what GPU-Z says and what my graphics card says

My graphics card says I have a core clock of 650 and a memory clock of 2000 but GPU-Z tells me I have a core clock of 650 and a memory clock of 1000.

Am I missing something?

the 2000 is double data rate, while the 1000 shown in GPU-z is the singe speed or doubled to 2000 DDR!

That's normal. Gfx cards have DDR memory, meaning double data rate. They do 2 operations per clock cycle. So when a manufacturer says it's 2000Mhz ram, they mean it's effective speed is 2000Mhz. It's real speed is 1000Mhz. The same thing is true with the DDR (1, 2 or 3. Doesn't matter) used in your mobo. 800Mhz ram is actually running at 400Mhz, 1200Mhz ram runs at 600Mhz, etc., etc.
