Cooler Master Launches the V8 CPU Cooler

Cooler Master first showcased its new V8 and V10 processor coolers during this year's CES show. Now some time after, the firm is formally launching the V8 in public. The V8 Cooler includes some very rich features. For instance it can efficiently dessipate up to 180W thanks to its copper base, modularized 4 part design and 8 diagonal up-rise situated heat pipes. For optimal performance, V8 also comes with a center mounted 120x120x25mm speed controlled fan which blows cool air through the cooler's aluminium fins. The V8's dimensions are 120 x 120 x 158mm. It weighs in at 865g and supports Intel's LGA 775 Socket, and AMD's Socket 940/AM2/AM2+. The cooler should be available now through Cooler Master's distributors. Find more details here.

Breath of fresh air

Very original industrial look. There have been way too many Thermalright and Freezer7 look-alikes lately.

True that! The Cooler looks sweet! I can't wait to see what Frostytech says about it!

LOL, they are stealing the terms from Biostars OCing

This looks like a terrible idea to me (no big surprise from CM though,CM should stick with cases).

its important that the air has a clear path and by turning the fins 90 deg they just create turbulance (bad) and restriction(worse).

Hmm, doesnt look too brilliant to me.

The extra branches DO provide additional paths for heat BUT their proximity to the main cooler and fine grills will actually hinder airflow to the main cooling units, requiring a stronger and noisier fan.

IF branches had taken the heat elesewhere and NOT restricted airflow to the main cooling units... it would have been a winner. Better to have had them as passive coolers on the sides.
