Diamond Multimedia First to Launch All-in-wonder HD Series Cards

Being a niché product is never easy unless you pack what the public likes into a product. A graphics card, a sound card (HDMI output), a HD-DVR TV tuner, all rolled into one: ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder HD. This graphics card features ATI Theater 600 chip, a graphics core based on the RV635 (Radeon HD 3650).

Diamond Multimedia launched two products, the All-in-Wonder and the All-in-Wonder HD Premium, with the Premium featuring an expansion bracket with additional connectors. For more details, please visit the product page here.

too bad that hd tuner won't do shit for users with comcast in my area since they encrypt all the hd channels, forcing people to rent the boxes...

probably too hot. I think heat effects the tuner chip.

RV770 isnt really that hot.

I'd prefer HD4650 variant though.

The card is for the video savvy people not for gamers... totally different market there where it go for quality rather than rending out frames as fast as possible.. just like the FireGL are for the DCC/CAD.

fyi hd comes in over air waves, I get 40hd channels 71 digital and 55 analog over airwave. any antenna from radioshack will pick it up.

This looks like a good choice for the user who wants HD but with a budget. PPV and ExpressVu bankrupt me in the past because they think it is so hard to triple their bandwidth to optimally stream video that has supported 1080p technology. My friend is a video editor guy and he has the little brother of this upcoming card. He loves it since it works with his Q6600 so that he can watch TV on this third display while playing counter-strike or doing web browsing/downloading on the other two.

It would be pretty sick for the ultimate multimedia/gaming rig, if it could CFX with 48xx cards, but I see no crossfire conectors on it. It could have run on normal computing, and let the fastest card take controle when gaming.

Arigatou AMD, Arigatou Diamond ...for finally giving us another AIW
It would have been nice for it to use a better core but I'll take what I can get at this point

I tried that with an ati 650 card and got nothing. I guess the card was fooked or somethin i dunno.

How is the quality, and does it get all messed up when it's raining?

Also, where do you live? I was under the impression the only hd channels over the airwaves I'd be able to get were the basics like cbs, nbc, fox, and pbs...

They just built it for HTPC users. Used to be better. I don't see high sales for this thing.

They should have put the AIW feature directly on the mobo and combine it to the IGP to make the ultimate HTPC.

if you look back all of the all in wonder cards were never based on the top of the line chips. because really most people that have the top of the line chips already have a nice tv and have no need for tv on their computer. besides it makes it an easy solution to add tv yet keeping the price low.

I live in AZ
I use a philips hd antenna from radishack and hook it up to my olevia 32" lcd tv (with hd tuner, apprently cheaper models are sold with plain digital lol) I get the locals in hd cbs, nbc, abc, etc. some are just hd versions of analog, abc has a dedicated weather channel, pbs has 5 different channels (one normal, one food, one history, one discovery type, and one of those boring talk shows) cw6, my45 used to be upn, a bunch of random networks tbn has a whopping 5 channels (now you cant tell me they're not a scam being able to afford 5 hd channels) forget what the rest are as I'm at work, but you ge tlocals plus bonus channels and then a few other networks. not quite cable, but plenty for me. it really depends on what channels you're looking for and how big an antenna you want. the bigger/better the hd antenna, the more you pick up. I have a freind with a 52" outdoor hd antenna who can pick up the speed network, the food network, diy network etc. (basically all the ones who have hd on your normal cable package. )

WHAT? Ever heard of my Sapphire 9800 SE Gold Edition??
It was fast and at a reasonable price.
If the new AIW are close to affordable i will go for it and a new PC around it as i love PIP while ut2004 and honestly many people don't change their "beloved" game if it comes to PC working.

[EDIT]
Look how short it is! thats nice and the remote looks better than my old ati TV Wonder, if the remote comes with it as a feature?
