Bioshock problem with HD4870

I can't get Bioshock to start a game ever since I installed my 4870 with 8.7 cats. I've since discovered that it will start if I select the DX9 option in the Games menu, performance is as you can imagine, pretty stunning. But I'd like to see it with the DX10 goodies.....any thoughts?

EDIT: when I say I can't start a game I mean I get through the initial advert screens into the menus, but when I go to start an actual game the screen goes very dark. You can see a feint, dark image of the loading screen, but it just stops there.

Check the date on it, it's august 2007. It's the driver that was released for bioshock to sort issues with the game and 2900s.

Don't install it, it's a very very old driver, 7.6 or 7.8.

i think the only dx10 exclusive feature was the soft particles, you aren't missing out on much

Well, updating DX didn't help, grrr. I know its nothing major but I spent a lot of money on a DX10 card so I'd like it to work. LOL
