What branch of the military are you in? All of the American members (myself included) should be offering you some good deals, just to say thanks for your deployment in Iraq.

your icon, if military, is called a HALO jump, or a jump being more than 10,000 ft. Airborne standard is 1000-1500 ft. Recon? must be an armory unit thing. All special forces have to go through airborne training, and later on HALO, just like the SEALS have to do scuba. We can do scuba, but it is hard to get to. We do have a dive locker, but im not really interested in scuba.

operation and location has nothing to do with it, they can volunteer to do halo, and if they are lucky, they can get a slot. These video games like SOCOM: US navy seals are not very accurate. Halo is primarily reserved for MARSOC and Army SOCOM SF individuals.

U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) 5th special forces group
U.S. Army 1st SFOD-D (Delta force) doesnt actually exist as a unit. Special forces operational detachment-delta, who most people believe are the 'legendary' elusive 'delta force' are actually part of an operational detachment where both special forces and ranger is a requirement. Delta force, if it were to actually exist, is supposed to be an army SF unit, attached to an air force unit, although airforce is the only branch that doesnt have a special forces unit. Navy have the SEALS, army have Special Forces, marines have the recently acquired MARSOC, or marine special operations command, or MARSOCOM. "Delta Force" is not actually a SOCOM function, therefor not being an actual special forces unit. Thank you for clearing up the HALO capable units list, even I didnt know that. Being HALO capable means that you have the ability to go, doesnt mean that you will, can, or will ever be able to go. Although i worked with Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force (CJSOTF), ive only ever met 2 or 3 navy SEALs. They go through the same training I do.

EDIT: you are good, this is a blackwater guy. GJ on that one!
