Well, the HLC will either:

A: Bring the end of the world

or

B: Be boring

I wonder if any of the people complaining, also happened to play Halflife at one time or another?

Just a theory...

agreed - there are people out there that know what they are doing, and the guys that built this thing sure know what they're on about. I want to see this create a revolution in science.

they do know what they are doing and have permission to do these experiments
this has been going on for years its not like they havnt been planning it untill this year its been ongoing for at least 10years.

its not going to create black holes plus we could be swallowed by one in space what the difference if we do it and people shouldnt phone up asking about there children thats just dumb

they dont phone up and moan about possible harm their kids might get from other things and its not just their kids who will get harmed if something happens bad

Mini black holes have been created before by other particle colliders. They say that the black holes just evaporate but I don't see how. Things don't just disappear.

Now they say the energy produced by colliding two particles togeather is comparable to that of two mosquitoes colliding togeather. In the past I've read that particle collisions like this produse insane amounts of energy. Please define "comparable". I can compare a penny to a billion dollars. 100 billion pennies in 1 billion dollars.

black holes do sort of fade away

If Hawking's theory of black hole radiation is correct then black holes are expected to emit a thermal spectrum of radiation, and thereby lose mass, because according to the theory of relativity mass is just highly condensed energy (e = mc2).[25] Black holes will thus shrink and evaporate over time. The temperature of this spectrum (Hawking temperature) is proportional to the surface gravity of the black hole, which in turn is inversely proportional to the mass. Large black holes thus emit less radiation than small black holes.

Two mosquitoes collided on our property a few years ago. The blast took out an acre of trees and left the land unihabitable for 40.6 million years.

The black hole that formed is great for getting rid of garbage. Just don't get too close.

Wild turkeys run through the area all the time. They seem to be getting bigger.
One ate my shed.

I met a squirrel that ran through the area. He can speak fluently in six languages, including Sanskrit. He taught me how to overclock my television.

Just a few obsevations. We have lots of mosquitoes here in WI.

Imagine two groups of peas flying at each other at close to the speed of light, then some of them collide at angles, and some straight on. Now you have heard the old thought of if a unstoppable force hits a immoveable object what happens? Well the scientists are getting threats from the pea lover association of north america, claiming they will use too many peas and there will only be creamed peas left to eat after the nuclear meltdown caused by the unstoppable and immoveable peas striking each other and splitting peas into split pea soup. The other side of the threats is coming from the monks who get goverment grants to sit and ponder the question of what happens.

Really I personally dont give two squirts of creamed peas. But at least we will know.

About six months ago two hummingbirds collided not far from our property.
It was catastrophic. The blast was near a cheese factory and blew thousands of pounds of vaporized cheese into the atmosphere.
People are saying that carbon emissions are causing global warming, but in reality it was the two hummingbirds.

The news never reports this stuff as people can't handle it.
WI people just shrug and get ready to shovel more snow when winter comes.

It's just another expensive toy for the scientists to play with.
They will not destroy the world. There may be some scientific insight gained, but I doubt we will see any benefit from it in our lifetimes.

EDIT:

Oh god I just watched a documentary and went to a lecture about the LHC in Glasgow. And the guy said there would be very little chance of any unforseen concequences. That must be a very sciency term but now I'm genuinly scared.

I'll meet you all at Black Mesa East.

PREPARE FOR UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES.
