Corsair to Launch Low-latency 8GB DDR2 Kit Later This Month
Although DDR3 is around the corner, high-quality institution Corsair is still trying to release top DDR2 kits. RAM-hungry users, seeking for the best memory out there will be glad to know that as of next month, a new 8GB quad kit from Corsair will be released. Corsair's Q2X8G6400C4DHX 8GB DDR2 kit will consist of four 2GB modules matched to work together at 800MHz, and at the low latencies of CL4-4-4-12. All modules will also employ Corsair's Dual-Path Heat Xchange (DHX) technology. Pricing information will be available when the kit is officially released.

Wouldn't that be 2GB modules?

Nice kit, I wonder if it could run 1066MHz with those timings.

I'm actually impressed by those timings. If anyone is interested, Bit-Tech have a really interesting article on the differences between 2, 4 and 8GB kits... "Is more memory better?"

Why? The current top end DDR2 is faster than the top end DDR1 as it is. These kits running at 800Mhz CAS4 are equivalent to running DDR400 at CAS2 in terms of latency, but have the benefit of much more bandwidth. If you want to talk about ocing, it's not uncommon for a good DDR2 ram kit to hit 1000Mhz CAS4. You'd have to run DDR1 at 500 CAS2 to match.
Plus, how many 2GB DDR1 sticks do you see around?
