EVGA 9600GSO for 49.99 after MIR

I know we hate rebates, but this one is steep. I have 2 of these and they are decent cards. The dual slot cooling is a plus for $50.00

10-26-08 Edit: Back in stock @ Newegg w/free shipping

Seems to be a pretty decent deal, but personally I wouldn't jump for it because evga ripped me off with my last rebate. Said I didn't include the upc, I guarantee you that I did!

I got the same treatment from Evga with my 8800GS. Even though I KNOW that I did.

EVGA refused the RMA on my 7900GS because i flashed the BIOS WITH THERE OWN BIOS!!!! it pissed me off and i won't go back to EVGA again because of that. That is the reason i replaced the 7900gs with a BFG when the EVGA died. I will stick with BFG or XFX on the Nvidia side

For how strong it is, I think the 9600gso is still overpriced. =P I like the cooler though lol.

This is one of the rare times when the dual slot cooler is a negative. The cooler on this card is far worse than the single slot stock cooler. I'm still picking one up though.

I've openly told eVGA that I have flashed the BIOS on cards before with modifired BIOS and they had no problem RMAing it. They are known for warrantying cards that have had the BIOS flashed, cooling changed, and heavily overclocked actually. So I have a real hard time believing you.

I've sent in multiple MIR's to eVGA over the past 2 years, 2 7600GT's, a 7900GT, an 8800GS, an 8800GTS, and a 9800GTX. Every one was honored, and recieved within 6 weeks. I wouldn't be worried about not recieving the MIR.

No it doesn't. This 9600GSO has better price/performance. It has roughly 100% more performance for only 25% more money.

I won't buy a rebate product unless it's cheap to begin with. If the company decides that they didn't receive something, no big deal. It was cheap anyways!

At 'stock' price, it doesn't compare to my X1800XT for price/performance. That's what I'm trying to get at. (Doing a bad job so far)

Just a little chime in here

7900GS Bios Flashed= Modded card= Refused RMA, you should just Reflashed back to whatever the card was suppose to be at then RMA'd it

EVGA Rebates, Never EVER got ripped off of ONE, for example FX5200 AGP $40 with a 40 MIR via EVGA=FREE i got the Rebate back, as well as others.

Personally i think this is a great deal for a great card, and you can always step-up!

Indeed you can step up, AND eVGA does not consider the Mail-In when you do the step up.

So if you buy this card, get the $50 rebate, and then use it to step-up, they will give you $100 for this card towards another card.

Thanks for backing me up. The bios was there own bios but it was modded. The card won't do anything it just gives off a burning smell and turns my computer off so i can't flash it back.
BTW maybe the person that was doing the RMA didn't get any the night before and was pissed off.
