Anyone got any predictions as to what game is gonna get GoTY? My guess is Fallout 3, too bad GSC didnt pay reviews enough to get good scores tho, that would probably get it!

From who, there's lots of GOTY elections. I think Bioshock got many last year, Crysis got some others, and COD4 on some others. My vote this year would probably be between Mass Effect, The Witcher, and probably (hopefully) Fallout 3. The year of the "mature" RPG.

GOTY is BS anyways. becouse people buy a game it don't mean it's any good. Be better if you said TPU's GOTY as long as the people have played it

Here's what I think will get nominations and awards:
Assassin's Creed
Far Cry 2
Crysis Warhead
Fallout 3
Call of Duty: World at War
WoW: The Wrath of the Lich King
The Witcher? (Damn good game, can it get GOTY twice since they re-released it?)

Thats just for awards/nominations for GOTY (for PC). There;s heaps of other games coming out this year that I really want, Dead Space, Prince of Persia etc.

The first stalker was more than worthy after a few months of patches.. Tho, I never encounter these show stopping bugs that people talk about. They must try and look for them or something.. Tho I do know some people really do get screwed over tho.

If the GoTY is based on sales then Spore will get GoTY.
But I think Fallout 3 is a big contender for GoTY too.

Various sites give multiple GOTY awards by genre. So there is RPG GOTY, shooter GOTY, etc.
Most sights and mags give an overall GOTY also, but there will always be a GOTY edition even if it a genre win.

The GOTY editions will usually say game of the year from which publications gave them the award. All of the major game sites do it, as do the magazines, there is no collective game of the year award that I know of.

Call of Dudy 5 is probably gonna be one of the worse games of year, it is being developed by Treyarch. They were the ones who made Call of Duty 3 and that game was garbage. I wish Infinity ward was making it. The only hope I am giving for the game is if they build it on the Call of Duty 4 engine, then it might be okay.

All of the major game sites do it, as do the magazines, there is no collective game of the year award that I know of.
