The mods in this thread do not apply to eVGA 9600GSO.

BUT!
Since 9600GSO is the same as 8800GS and eVGA appears to be using nVIDIA's reference board the mods for reference 8800GS described here should apply to an eVGA 9600GSO too.

UPDATE: went through - so the mods achieve the same things as they do on the Palit, cept you just do different stuff. Any clue whether my results will be similar to these?...err, well I'd be on the dual slot air cooler though. How much of an oc could I probably get with the dual-slot air cooler? What cooler should I buy to replace it if I want better results (would it be worth it to replace the cooler?)? 900/1135/2250 would probably be pushing it on air, huh?

Someone said this on newegg about the card:

Hi!

I also have this card. Before I go berserk with my soldering iron, is there a more simple pencil mod available for this particular card? I'm looking for a vGPU pencil mod if you need more accurate info. It would be easier since I would not have to go and buy any resistors. The nearest electronics shop is ~50km from my home so...

Pencil mod might be possible but I can't do anything about it cause I don't have the card so I can't pinpoint the resistor to pencil. There's a resistor somewhere in there that connects ground and the trace between the optional soldering points (red dots)...
