Just a figure of speech.... Meaning, if you look and see you want something bigger for your computer, boom... TV for another room... Since it has the component parts.

@Quasar - The Dell monitor is infinitely better than the other monitors you listed. Since they are a local seller, check it out in person. If it's in good shape with no dead pixels, grab it without delay. lol.

OK the person selling the dell bought it back in April of 07' and on [H] they were saying that there were two different revisions ( the A00 and A02) do you guys think that this monitor would be the newer and better A02? The people posting were posting back in June 06' so this person on ebay bought it almost a year later, would it be the newer revised one?

It should be the newer better one... After a year, they should have gotten rid of the old stock by the time he bought it. I say it should be the better one of the two.

Most monitor will have the name it self, with the revision number right after it. Like for instant. My monitor is the HP W2207H, There is a Normal HP w2207 that doesn't have the ability to do a full 180 swing for art related stuff. But, if it doesn't show there, where the bar code is will show the FULL model number

ok i went to the guys house today to put a downpayment of $40 on the monitor because i cant get the rest of the money till friday so i will own the monitor then. The revision is A04 so im guessing thats even newer than the A02? I was not able to see it turned on pluged into a pc because he did not have a computer besides a mac to plug it into and it was one of those macs that have their own screen. I was able to look at it and it looks very nice and clean. it has the original box and everything. He is pretty sure the warrenty is transferable, but he said if not i can just give it back to him and he can return it if anything goes wrong in the future. I doubt hes trying to screw me first because he was going to sell it on ebay and if he was to sell a faulty item there he would get screwed, and second i know where he lives which is less than 3 miles from where i live and anyone in the right sense of mind wouldnt screw with another person who knew where they lived. He seems like a trustworth guy, he does music and audio production, and lives with his mother in a condo complex, hes about 30 yrs old.

ok i just got the monitor and have it set up now. its nice and huge. no dead pixles or anything. ONE problem tho. The color seems very bland compared to my samsung syncmaster and ive fiddled with the on screen settings with no luck. any help? ive tried to install the cd but it just brings me to a web site which gives trouble shooting options.

Have you went to Samsung.com and looked for driver software for the monitor itself. You should be able to find it. I believe the monitor should have drivers.. Just make sure if it does, grab the right ones. My HP monitor had a driver cd and it wanted to throw the 19 20" monitors in with the 22".... Messed a lot with my video card drivers...

BenQ V2400W. And get it from BenQ's online store so you don't have the return hassle (they are pretty much a 30 day satisfaction guaranteed type deal). Apply the "thankyou10" code for 10% off.
I've been a bit disappointed with Samsung's recent propensity to buy panels from less than quality providers and use a number on the same model. I received a crappy CMO panel on a 22" - blue tinged and a bright blue stuck pixel. Tried three Samsungs (one 2220WM and two 2053BW). The 2220WM had horrible backlight bleeding and clouding and the two 2053BW's had a stuck bright pixel each. Finally bought an ASUS PG221H with a "zero bright dot" warranty and its much better than any of those Sammys. |

Instead of creating my own thread, I'll just add my question here, since it is basicly the same one. I am looking for a 24" for myself. I am open tp anything under $30 shipped, black (or black and silver), has DVI input and has height adjustments.
Here's the list from the Egg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...nd&Order=PRICE Probably going to go with the $400 BenQ (I have a 19" BenQ I've been very happy with) or one of the $420 Samsungs (my Samsung 32" LCD TV is very nice). Toughts? Cheers

So what would be the conclusion to a good 24" monitor in the $500 or less price range.

I personally love BenQ's 24inch monitors, probably one of the best monitors in that category

Thw BenQ T241W doesn't have a DVI connector, and the V2400W doesn't have height adjustment, otherwise I might have bought one of those.
I picked up the Samsung 2493HM. Just arrived a few hours ago - I plan on hooking it up as soon as I get through all my email lolzerz
