Laptop for School ~$1300

So, I am looking for a laptop that I can take to school, and use for a bit of gaming here and there.
I would like the screen size to be around 15", I could do 14" or 13", but still 1080p. I would like the screen to be anti glare. Some key features I would like, would it to have a long battery life, and be reasonably small, as I will be carrying this around all day, moving from room to room, and power points are limited. It will be used for word, surfing the net, CAD, adobe Illustrator and powerpoint, coding a bit C, data basing. But then It has to have a casual side. I would like it to be able to comfortably play battlefield 3, borderlands 2, and upcoming titles, such as crysis 3. A harddrive+SSD would be a nice thing, but not necessary.
My budget is around $1300 AUD, but I can go up a bit.
Here is the notebook section of the website where I buy my parts:

This is what I was looking at:

That MSI system looks pretty nice for the price man. I know if you go with Alienware (Dell) it will cost probably another half as much to get that same performance. From what your describing that system should fit the bill pretty good m8t!

Be sure to get pictures when you get which ever system you get...........:-)

Agreed. I use pccasegear as Im from Auz too.
I think its a pretty decent rig for the price. And considering your prerequisites for the system, it seems to fit them pretty well as stinger said! =)

I saw this interesting tablet/ultrabook on tv today. It was like dell's flip one. It's a normal ultrabook, but the screen can flip around, and you can use it as a tablet.

If you will be carrying it around for school you will want a 13" Also "long battery on a gaming laptop" is not going to happen. You looking at 3hr max with a dedicated gaming gpu. I least I haven't seen any last longer. Warranty is nice too. ASUS is 2 year

I don't remember, sorry. The ad went like:
A girl and a guy sitting at a train station, waiting for the train. Girl is sitting there with thin laptop, guy has this monster that looks like its from 1990. Then the "time" changes. The train turns into a steam train, and all the people turn into old fashion people. Then one of the guys goes, "is that laptop steam powered or something", then the girl replies in a typical intel ad voice, "No, its intel powered".

I've decided to scrap the gaming side with this, as there is no way I will get a reasonable battery life. Now I'm gonna go with a nice think ultra book.
Which one of these would be better?

The asus seems a bit underpowered, yet it has a better screen. Though it is windows 8
The Samsung has a lower resolution screen, but is faster. The samsung warranty is 3 years, much better then the Asus's 1 year.

Definitly samsung out of those two. Also note that the asus has a 4c battery rather than the 8c in the samsung.
And I like windows 7 better..
