Help with file recovery
Hi!
I had to install XP on my system to program an old navigator. In the XP installation I made a command to format my SSD but it started formatting my 500GB mechanical for some reason. The 500GB was Bitlocker encrypted and is now not encrypted anymore and empty. Is it possible to recover the data on this drive and if yes then which programs are good. BTW the data on the 500GB was not very very important. Lauri

Wow lesson learned. Always disconnect your data drives when formating on a install. I think we all have done this.
There are a number of programs that work. They just take time to run. Just dont use the drive at all until you get what you want. Some of the data may have not survived the formate and install. One I can think of is Recover my Files. http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ Im sure there are other its just been while http://data-recovery-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ |

Do you think the recovery will work since the data before it was lost was bitlocker encrypted?

I tried Recover my Files and EASEUS and both were not able to recover the drive because it is bitlocker encrypted data.
