Didn't know WoW was already due for an expansion.

I am disappointed that it is pre-rendered and shows absolutely nothing about the game as it will actually be. Useless.

Specifically, I want to know if it will be free to play or subscription based.

I am starting to think that there is a private program like "RPG Maker 2003" that started with Everquest or DAOC, and keeps getting passed onto these companies to make the same game with different skins, and slightly different gameplay.

I am pretty certain it will be $50 or $60 with a monthly subscription. Within a year (maybe year and a half maybe) the game will then go F2p with a free download, and hats or boosts you can buy.

Mark my words, on this day, this post will be saved for future reference. They should have just given us Skyrim gameplay, but that actually requires they be innovative.

Cool, will have to watch it later.

IMO, having a F2P/sub model from the very start is the way to go. Trials are an inefficient means of weening players off of other MMOs and attracting new players to the genre. Giving a user a chance to play here and there to slowly bring them in I believe hooks more players than the usual ultimatum of pay or get out at the end of a trial.

Mark my words, on this day, this post will be saved for future reference.

This seems like its for those extremely hardcore Elderscroll fans who can't wait to get there hands on anything TES.

I'm almost one of them.

But I can wait for a true TES MMO. Something where it looks at least like Skyrim but has lots of people connected to the same world online.

This could have been that game, but they salivate at what WoW has when they see how much money that game makes.

But WoW is dying (subscriptions steadily falling). I think their target was something else.

They are still making millions upon millions. They could shut down the servers right now and leave having made more money than any other game in existence.

I might casually play this if its not too expensive. I do love me some elder scrolls but they tend to get kinda boring. I play them in spurts but then again I play all games like that except for Starcraft II. I usually play an hour or two of that most days.

The only thing killing WoW is itself, to aim to kill it is just retarded. I know people who have lost jobs, girlfriends, and everything in devotion to that game.

On another note, I ws going ot make this thread. But I didn't simply because I seen these posts coming, and it makes me sad that I guessed dead on.

I've been keeping an eye on all the news on this game and while the ES fans can fuss all they want about it we won't know what it's like until we start hearing word coming out of the beta.

The trailer is cool even if it's only purpose it to hype the game.

If you've been keeping up with what the devs at ESO have been saying you know that it's not going to be at the graphic level of the SP games. It also has to be adjusted for MMO gameplay. This is not surprising at all. To think they could replicate the SP experience of the latest ES games in an MMO that will perhaps be cross platform and be playable on so many varying system is kind of naïve.
That has nothing to do with how fun it may be.

From what i have seen and read from ever information i could find on it this is going to be like no other MMO to date and from the few people (being major game blogers and successful indepent game reviewers) that got to play a pre alpha release a while ago has said it is pretty much going to be skyrim just online and all of Tamriel not just a certain area here is a pretty good video that will sum it all up

I'll HAVE to check it out, simply because "I am that fanboi". I do love me some TES action, as the Arena box on my shelf attests to. But, with Citizen42 and Eliteangerous on the far horizon, and an new Sub to Eve:Online coming shortly, as well as the other crap still loaded on my PC, I'll be ok if it's not quite up to par. Obliv did good by me, as did Skyrim (except the Steam requirement and DL that should have been cheaper/included). I'm ok if they pull another Daggerfall.

They should have just taped skyrim, oblivion and morrowind together and made the single games multiplayer all on one package. That's what everyone wanted, and still wants.

I wouldn't buy that RCoon, but I would buy an mmo with new stories if it's up to par. I already own all elderscrolls, as do most fans. Multiplayer in old games is not what I want personally.
