4890 crossfire temps

i have 2 hd4890s in crossfire and they perform pretty well i can fraps bf3 and get minimal lag but they get hot even while just playing i ran gpu-z without fraps running and during 1 match temps hit 80 a few times, is this anything to worry about? i know when OC these cards people say to try to stay around the 80 degrees mark mine are at stock clock btw

Nah i u should b ok mate. My 4890s used to pretty hot. If your worried about temps and noise( i was especially noise) try and look 4 sum Twin Turbo Pros made by Arctic Cooling. I was really happy with my 4890s and i never did get after market cooling for them so i sold em coz the noise was shitn me. Id probably still have em today if i did. They were an excellent setup.

They will be fine upto about 100c GPU's can run pretty hot compared to CPU's. Though you could create a custom fan profile, and set them to 100% when they hit 80c or so to be safe

yea i was thinking about tweaking the fan curve myself i think that's a good idea and safe insurance, ill see what i can do in MSI, i dont have much froom for aftermarket cooling for gpus the 2 cards take up 3 pci-e slots by themselves
