ASUS X501U-XX049V performance help
Hello all i've bought an ASUS X501U-XX049V couple months ago with these specs:
AMD C60 1GHZ dual core Memory 4GB DDR3 Graphics AMD Radeon 6290 Drives 500GB The reason being because i'm now in uni but i commute so i got access to my desktop still, the laptop was intended do uni work with the laptop while i am there, also bought it because it was really light. Great laptop, however there are times its a little bit slow when im streaming videos on youtube, would it be because of the cpu? It even struggled running a very very old game and loading programs sometimes take awhile. Just wondering if a SSD would help improve performance a little like video streaming etc?

I can only find that asus laptop for £321.39, the Dm1 costs £332.99
you could of had an HP DM1 4300SA which runs an AMD E2-1800 APU which would totally demolish the C60. only downside is the DM1 is 11.6" but Ive had my older generation DM1 for almost 2 years and I totally love it. slap in 8GB DDR3 and an SSD and it makes a great machine. similar to many nettops out there. 11.6" might not be so great to work on for really long periods but its small, its light and compact and you can still do your homework on it though having quite a few windows/tabs open can make it lag a little, Its not the best multitasker but should be better with the E2-1800. the E2-1800 should also be capable of some light-medium gaming too. I certainly dont have any issues running games at low to mid settings depending on the game. guildwars 1 at mid-high settings is very achievable and should be even better given that its the E2-1800 APU
