The 6970 is hot even with that noisy reference cooler, so I will say they are pretty close in that aspect.

Still don't get the point of having the heatpipes on the top of the card, Sapphire usually doesn't and if they do they're concealed by a nice cover, personally I think heatpipes visible on the top like this are an eyesore.

Honestly I think function vs style.

IE a sleeper car beating a obvious modified car
