Generic help request

OK so my rig (seen left in specs) has been acting up.

Symptoms

1. strange playback issues (error code "the network is too busy to play file at original bitrate"
or somesuch)

2. occasional bsods

I`ve tried nearly everything obvious including - switching gpu , switching psu , switching sata ports , switching memory slots , scan hdd for errors, increase vram voltage , increase cpu voltage.
It`s driving me nuts. Unless I`ve missed something the only thing I haven`t ruled out is mobo.
Can anyone suggest anything obvious there that I`ve missed ?

Are you playing a video that's streamed over the net? Is your player updated? Have you installed any extraneous codecs recently? Is your LAN updated? If streaming via Flash or other compression app, is that app updated? Lastly, if you are streaming within a browser, is your browser updated and/or clean of browsing clutter?

Found this with a little searching. There's no official fix mentioned, but it does state the same thing happened when Real Player was tried. I suspect it's more the source of the stream than anything on your end, just like some YouTube vids take forever to stream, while others don't.

I second trying VLC btw. It has come a long way. It's now one of the most stable high IQ players available. Often times the most streamlined software with the least bloat is the most effective, such as VirtualDub. No software can overcome overload issues server side though.

Two of the most common scenarios for server side issues are a new file that's gone viral and is getting too many hits for the server to handle, or an old file that's been relegated to an archive with lower bandwidth.

As I stated vlc freezes too . I doubt it`s a real error message , but I just wanted to rule it out
