New build

I've gone crazy again and want to do a new build. I have $550 in cash and I can sell my 780i for $120. SO,

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 Chipset $159
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Unbuffered $65
Intel I7 3770k $325

Now heres the dilemma. That's 549$. I plan to use my 250's in sli as I don't game at a very high res. So I have $120 left over. I'm thinking if I go for the 3570k I could buy a HD 7850 with the cash, or even something better if I sell all my gts 250's. But on the other hand, I'm thinking with the 3770k I'll be literally future proofing my system for 5+ years to come on the cpu and mobo side. What should I do

You seem to like building a lot, dont you?

Nothing wrong with selection, but I think you will be better off sticking with your 3570K and just get a new graphics card. No point futureproofing your cpu+mobo, it will last long even if you are going 3570K

Well I'd rather spend money on something I use daily then waste it on useless stuff!
I'm going on holidays on this Wed, and once I come back I will hopefully finalise my decision.

Why don't you save the money and get something that will be a little more future proof. Imagine what you could build if you saved until IVB-E comes out. If I get another good size tax return I might need to replace my 3820 when that day comes.

I'd do the GFX upgrade too, selling the GTS 250s and getting something new, since most games today are designed to maximize GPU performance, and use less CPU power, thus upgrading the GPU will offer more future proofing in games than just a new CPU.
