It isn't a video in on the card, it's a video out. If you want cable on your computer you need a TV tuner card.

It was back in 05 but Lars (supposedly from ATI) claimed that VIVO was part of AVIVO.

Quote:
Hi,

AVIVO stands for the whole Display output unit on ATI graphics cards (introduced with X1K series). This includes 10-bit per component (Dual-Link) DVI, CE-Grade Video-Out and Video decoding. AVIVO is a quality feature that includes all content displayed by the card (may it be video, 3D gaming, 2D-Desktop). That's what we mean when we talk about "AVIVO ensures display perfection" and best connectivity.

Video Encoding and Capturing will be the part of Theater solutions (on VGA cards for Video in and on All In Wonders with TV-Tuner capabilities). Those are also part of AVIVO.

I guess since then they completely removed VIVO from AVIVO into its own products (AIW cards are no longer video cards)

that quote of yours is him saying that it wont be, that its part of the theater cards - which are basically ATI TV tuners, since they dropped the all in wonder series.

Oh I see Theater solutions is not part of the ATi video cards just AIW solutions, I was thinking it was the name of some software tab in the drivers. I have not looked at that page (the one I linked to) in some time I just dug it up. I guess I misread it then to.

Yeah, theater was their line of TV tuners.

You're thinking of the 'rage theater pro' chip, which was included on the AIW cards, and then on their TV tuners.
