how do i speed up new fans

haiiii. i jus got 2 120mm case fans. there was nowhere to plug em into the mb so i used adapters and plugged them into the power supply, but how do i make them go faster? i need my system to be cooler. they dont show up on speedfan, it only sees the 2 fans that are plugd into the mb, not the 2 new ones plugd into the power supply.

You can't control them using the 4 pin molex. Those connectors only offer power.

Either get a fan controller that allows you to dial in the speeds or just deal with the speeds you're getting now.

Not saying that particular one, but something along those lines. The 3 pin plugs on the fans plug into the controller, then the power supply plugs into the controller.

a fan controller wont speed up your fans if they are already connected to your psu

Well, unless you have the type of fans with their own temperature sensor inside them (which will speed up and slow down according to the temp of the air by the fan) then they are already going as fast as they will go. Plugging them into the power supply will give them the full +12V. A fan controller will only let you dial the voltage between 12V and lower. If you really need faster fans, then you'll have to buy some higher RPM fans.

If there plugged directly into the PSU they are more likely at full speed already unless there faulty or have a heat sencer on them a fan controller is only going make them slower or as fast as they are already.

Any chance of a link to them ?.

My old Antec had "Fan Only" molex connectors that made the fans run super slow. They only supplied like 5 volts to the (12v) fans. You aren't using those connections are you?

No, don't bump your posts so soon.

If your fan is plugged directly into the PSU, it should run at 2000 rpm as specified.

The 74.48 CFM is BS totally. I have some of the red ones which come with a fan controller and there is no chance of of it.

Try 1 or more of these if you can get them to fit. They blow tons of air and it's more than tripple what the rosewills claim to do.

there is a 92x38mm one too.

Don't use it. So would not know, There's stress testing and there's over doing it. And if my CPU or any really were hitting the 60c's i be looking in doing some thing about it but that be in games not a program like that.

Games should be running way lower if thats what it hits with that program.

As long as it stable you should be good but keep a eye on it even more so if you have temp changes like here in PA which can be like -20 to 32c.

And check other parts of the comp to like the NB and SB and there is not hot spots in the case. And your final test will be actual games.

If the fans are plugged directly into the PSU, then they are running as fast as they are going to go. There is no way to get them to run faster.

Next time, don't buy cheap fans...
