Q9550 and water cooling push the bad boy

right lads (and ladies )

stuck my q9550 at 3.4 for now 400 x 8.5 just to get it started
now has any one here got the same chip thats pushed it a bit further its the 45nm eo stepping i think looking at cpuz. so some one could give me there settings voltages ect.. would be nice

my current idle temp is about 31/32 and my load is about 41/42 (these are the averages accross all cores)

my coooling is a water cooling loop consisting of:
  • Zalman ZM-WB5 Water Block
  • Hydor L30 II Pump
  • Apha Cool bulls eye reservoir
  • 2 x asetek waterchill 240 radiators With 4 x 120mm fans
  • Tubing size is a mix of 10mm/8mm and 8mm/6mm
  • Coolant is feaser one F1 UV green

any help to get this further would be nice especially any one with the same CPU/MB combo

thanks ian

Can't say I have your specific board, but the E0 Q9550's should hit 4ghz with ease.

I use 1.328 vcore (cpu-z), 1.26 VTT, 1.36 MCH and 63% reference values and I have 4ghz. 1.2875 VID too

Just go to goggle and type in what you want to know and study up abit on your bios settings so you will know what you are doing>
You need to learn what your bios and mother board settings are for so you can obtain a stable overclock!

unfortunatly the x38/48 boards cant seem to push the 45 nm quads as well as the p45 boards
so 4ghz isnt so easy but you should be able get at least 3.8.
here> http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=179580
is a best place for information for this mobo I have found its a huge thread but you'll
find plenty of settings for 95/9650's in the last 25 pages or so.
check the first page for plenty of good info too.

vtt=fsbt
mch= north bridge
vid= stock voltage of your chip
