Sucks for the PS3 people, even tho Valve has always expressed dislike toward the PS3, but this is really the first time they really basically said 'no we don't care much for it'. You can watch the whole interview through the link.

basicly you pay more for less on consoles

just look at Team Fortress 2, you got FREE updates on PC, and you have to Pay for update on xbox 360 (gives a whole meaning to micro$oft) and on PS3 sorry no update

Valve has to bring in a separate group of developers to port everything to the PS3's Cell Broadband Engine. After porting Half-Life and the lot. They probably came to the realization it isn't profitable enough to be worth the time and money. It doesn't surprise me especially seeing how invested Valve has become in Steam.

Valve wants to focus on PC products so they can bring more customers to Steam. Xbox 360 ports are easy money for Valve.

People who have any current gen consoles are a small market if you think about it, the PS2 has far more out there, but that doesn't mean they should just give up on new systems. Either way, I am not a fan of Valve games, I haven't ever played one that really made me go "I'm gonna buy this" so not a big loss. I'm eagerly awaiting quiet a few PS3 titles like a giddy schoolgirl though.

I own a PS3, and I much rather play Valves games on PC. I only play the "classic" console games on the PS, like racing, sports, jump and run etc games. Everything else, like fps and strategy, thats where a PC can show its muscles. And Valve can carry on making great PC games without being limited by "having to do a console version, too".

Dunno about that. their games are not all that good. Granted HL2 was great but spent more time loading than actually playing and i don't mean long loading times i just mean there is so many of them.

Only reason i got HL2 was just for the story as i was a fan of the 1st one. Al though it was not any were near as good.
