Encoding programs not using 100% of cpu?

I have to encode some videos to play on my archos 5. I've tried mediacoder, handbradke and super but none of them use 100% (all 4 cores - HT off) on my cpu. they only use about 40-60%. is there any settings in any of these programs i have to set to use all four cores?

Depends what your encoding too and what version of that codec your using. Though that sounds about right, most codecs will not consume a quad core cpu.

i'm not sure the program is the problem. I would suggest checking your codecs
