What games that made you buy your PS3/Xbox360?

I decided to get a PS3 for my fav J-RPG games (old school heroes).
It's seem like most of Xbox360 games type are on PC anyway, and there aren't many new J-RPG games on PC.

What about everyone esle?

Well, I don't own a PS3 yet. But the main reason I want one is due to Gran Turismo 5. And Blu-Ray.

Well when I first got my PS3 I got Guitar Hero World Tour, but thats not why I bought it though. I bought it for not only the exclusive but because I like it more as a console. I do all my gaming on my PC, so why would I buy another Microsoft product.

The main reason i bought my xbox360 was because of halo 3 soon halo3 odst coming out yeah and also achievments.

I never bought "my" 360, just borrowed my friends... I've had it for over a year now and bought a lot of games and accessories for it so I'm kinda hoping he never wants it back

Anyway, never bought a console for just one game, I usually look at all the titles for a console when deciding which one to get and I gotta say, the 360 is more up my alley than the ps3, not all that interested in J-RPG which seems to be the big thing that separates the two.

i have both for both reasons

360, i concider a FPS console has great FPS games (for a console)

and the PS3

i love playing TPS games i dunno feels better to me less stiff than the 360,
Also the blu ray, and built in wireless, and upgradeable HDD,

PS3 is also better as a media center to me, i know you can use windows media center through your 360 but its slow sometimes and a pain, the XMB makes it a lot easier to just watch movies and listen to music streamed from the PC.

Also exclusives, i don't consider any games that come out for PC and 360 as a 360 exclusive, because technically its not.

Ps3 has a buttload of exclusives comeing out between now and 2010

Bought my PS3 for Blu-Ray GT5 (even though I got it so long ago), and basically anything else as 360 and PS3 release almost the same games, Halo got worst as it went on, so couldn't justify the 360.

Got my ps3 for bluray - gaming wise i'm yet to be impressed by any ps3 games, although i will be getting GT5 as GT3 is my most played PS2 era game.

For the xbox360 i got it for console only games like burnout, halo, the now dead pgr series, tales of vesperia and any other games which have a 4 month lag between console and pc release (complete it on console, then get it for pc if it is really good). I also love xbox live as decent game servers can be a bit hard to find for some multiplayer games (which is why i now run my own L4D server). I alos prefer the xbox controllers over the ps3 dualshock controllers as they are a better size and weight for me, so that would be a factor in deciding what platform to get a multi-console game for now.

i dunno that game is a winner in my book technically and the story.

Honestly I'm going to buy another 360 here shortly as mine red ringed. Mainly for Forza 3, as it will beat GT5 to the table(release date wise)

I bought my xbox 360(3rd one and I still need to change the xclamps like hookey told me) mainly for well, well, hmmmmmmmmmmm, I don't know but it has some good games, don't know its worth all the problems its given me so far but its worth the money for sure if you only have bought one console and not had rrod problems, it has alot of good games.

I had a ps3, I bought it hoping good rpg's would come out for it and right when I sold it rpg's started popping up one after another, for ps3, and I know I'm definitely gonna buy one for FFXII Versus cause I love final fantasy and the ps3 has a decent library too now.

Only console I wish I had was a PSX(DVR)

I always wanted one but they are rare now.

and yes joinmeindeath, the ps3 I had was am alot better media center than the 360.

Only reason I got my Xbox 360 was for the Halo series which im starting to get an itch to play again. The only reason I keep my 360 now is because GoW2 isnt on the PC yet. Doubt it will be.

I sold my original 60GB PS3 ''fat'' for a router.(was worth it imo)

I had a 360 and it died, i sent it in and they sent me a new console which lasted for a little while(about a year and a half or so) then that died.(both RROD'd) May get another one tho.

I also have a Wii.

I didn't buy them for specific games, i just wanted all of them. And i have been doing that for years.

This is why I am a PC gamer who now lets his PS2 gather dust till the mice have ideas for plastic (both kinds). I hate console companies this way, they always force people to buy their things. The only time I would make the switch is if: 1. XBOX 360 is 150 CAN. 2. PS3 is 200 CAN. 3. Wii is free. 4. If the next Half-life 2 episode is on any of these consoles. So there!

actually the quality of games in general might start dropping now, microsoft officially dropped the aa and resolution requirement for game developers now, so we will start seeing more games with no aa and less than 1280x720p resolutions, before, developers had to request if they wanted to do this and microsoft had to approve but now, microsoft dosen't care,

I don't think ps3 had any real requirements on game developers though.

360 - Geometry Wars, Gears of War (1/2)

I sold my 360 to get funds for PC goodies, never selling the PS3.
