processor changing speed??
was lookin in realtemp and noticed that my process or is only reading 2GHz!! wtf mate!

It's called Intel SpeedStep and C1E. They are power saving features. If you want to turn them off there should be options in yout BIOS.

hmm, its odd though. i look at realtemp a lot and have never seen this...even when the computer is just sittin doin nothin

well since an E8500 doesnt run with a 6 multi unless set in bios to do so, or speed step is controlling it, I have to say you just didnt notice it.

Your CPU has what is known as Enhanced Speedstep Technology, Basically meaning when idle the CPU will drop its speed to save on power draw and temperature, it will speed back up when the demand is increased, such as when playing games.
