Xbox 360 windows wireless receiver FIX

hi guys, i have a 360 wireless receiver for windows and one day it just stopped working all together. No idea why at all. Apparently from searching around the internet this is a common problem with the unit just stopping working all together.

I decided to open the unit up and take a look inside, after playing around for a while i found that the problem was the F1 Fuse that is cutting the current. You have to open it and bypass (soldering) the two legs of the F1 Fuse.
It's a pain to get open, but take off the white lid of the unit to gain access to the mini circuit board.
Then after you gain access, unscrew the 2 screws holding the circuit board down and turn it over, I have added a picture showing where to solder on the underside of the circuit board.

Also if you want to give this a try and dont have a soldering iron lying around at the time (like me) if you plug it into the usb and bridge the F1 fuse with some wire, windows will start to install the device and recognise it. BUT obviously you will need to solder for a permanent fix as you cant play games very well with one hand holding the wire and one hand on the pad

I have added pic's to show you what to solder hopes this helps others, as it seems like its a common problem.

well this has also been posted else where and it has helped out 6-7 people as they have tryed it and it works!

they are quite pricey but you can buy the receiver and the pad for like £30 quid so its no to bad if you dont have the pad or just want another and the receiver. They are great tho, i love the Xbox 360 pad, plus it works very well with all 'games for windows' products as its made by microsoft. The games are all geared towards using the xbox pad.

And the price of the unit makes my fix 'worth' even more thanks
