They are preparing for the 5 series. plus the 4890 is the new kid for ATI and i am sure for the right price you could sell your 4870x2.

Seems kind of strange though as the 4870X2 still outperforms the 4890 by quite a bit

Think your wrong, tons of people here have 4870x2's and 4890's. The 4870x2 outperforms the similarly priced 285 though, me thinks your crazy, either way this isn't the nvidia forums.

It's still for sale all over the web. Now would be the time to sell one if you're thinking about the HD 5XXX series. Soon we will start seeing all of the HD 4xxx series disappear.

Sure! They've stopped making them with all of their factories manufacturing the new cards. Same happened with the 3 series, 2 series and every series before that. I sense a HD 5870 x3 or x4 in your future.

Only one problem with that... nvidia sucks. I'd rather run a 10 year old pci ATI rage 3d than the newest nvidia card.

No more 4870X2's on NewEgg...

Making 5800 series space.

I wouldn't mind another 4870X2 though... absolutely LOVE mine. Its sad to see them not for sale anymore.

The 4870X2 made the GTX 285 look retarded in mostly everything. Why someone would buy a GTX 285 over a 4870X2 is beyond me, unless they are folding. I wish I would have gotten two 4870X2's before they stopped being sold, no longer on NewEgg, EWiz.com or any major e-tailer.

i bet those will come down in a price a bit here really soon, with 5870 being $399 and 5850 being $299 i dont see how anyone would want to buy the power-hog X2 over either of those.

Nah, not for a while. They'll just sit there at that price until some uninformed people buy them. The rest of the 48xx stock will do the same. I doubt there are many 4870x2's around in retail stock.

I'm sure there are 4870x2 owners who want another one just to have one. I definitely wouldn't get another one right now, I'd wait it out til someone sales their used one. I do want me a 5800 series though...
