Video only works in safe mode?!?!
Hello all. Hopefully you can see my sys specs fine. I few months ago, i was always able to watch videos (using VLC, Nero, WMP, et al.) with Vista 64 bit...nowadays, after having my beloved pc in storage for a few months, I can only watch videos in safe mode (no sound of course)...because when i try to watch BSG, The Shield...whatever, it crashes the hell out of my machine!!! I'm thinking that setting VLC to OpenGL Video Output..I'm hoping that will help but I didnt try it yet because I wanted to post this thread before a potential crash. HELP!
p.s. - I've updated everything I can think of.. Any help is greatly appreciated!! ![]() Also, hulu is fine until I full screen it! WTF? Last edited by geotheleo; Sep 26, 2009 at 09:58 PM. |

it can be due some codec incompatibility with video driver
try to clean all codecs from pcs;also you may uninstall vga driver;what's important is to clean well the os of all rests of these.. i never use codec packs of any kind just DIVX codec and ac3 filter and till now all was ok. if not help at all try to restore the os to an earlier poit(if restore was active) or make a fresh install
