Almost every company uses outside venders to make there products..
The question is do you trust Corairs Standards I think so.... It's like this..I worked at a company that made parts for GM.HONDA and Toyota..... WE had to be exact on the Toyota parts....Within 200 microns with Honda...And GM would buy the scrap parts at a discount at the end of the year.... So really it's just a matter of standards |

That's been the way it's been for ages... all of my TX corsairs were made by that OEM.

There are only a few companies that have the equipment to make PSU's, these companies (OCZ, corsair, antec, etc) merely ask them to assemble PSU's to certain specs (or a modified version of an existing design) - even if you buy a CWT outright, it wont be the same as a CWT made corsair

If you must know ... there are many other manufacturers that use CWT or ChannelWell. One of the other popular brands being Xigmatek.
EDIT: Oh don't forget about Antec truepowers/smartpowers and Tt toughpowers. |

Actually OCZ has their own capacities for PSU construction. It happened when they bought PCC&P (PC Cooling & Power). I don't remember PCC&P of using CWT or Seasonic internals for their PSUs.
But they still mostly use external parts and PCC&P is kinda reserved only for their highest end.

Oh dear... Ripple Well Inc. The cause of the infamous True Power failure... Ripple would sometimes be 12.1V one second and 13.8V the next... or 13.8V one second and 11.1V the next... ripple was bad... bad...

Corsair doesn't make any of their power supplies, they just tell CWT (ChannelWell) and SeaSonic what designs they want, and then submit a few of their own modifications/upgrades. The TX 850, 750, HX1000, and VX550 are all CWT-built units, the HX620, 520, VX450 and CX400 are all Seasonic. I'm not sure about the HX850, 750, and 650, but I would have to imagine that they are also Seasonic

Its called branding, most companies do it these days.
And if its not branding then the other company just makes it for them, much like how Apple uses a Chinese factory.

Corsair has never made their own PSU's. They are either CWT or.. I want to say Silverstone, but I don't think that's right. Some other company that starts with an S I think.

Since we are doing it already... http://www.corsair.com/products/h50/ - not manufactured by Corsair either.
... Maybe a better question will be if the merchandise they manufacture is in the single digits percentage of what wears their brand or lower? Does it even matter really? In the end, Corsair has their logo on some pretty good stuff. |

CWT was responsible for the terrible Antec Smartpower series. However they have bettered themselves since then, just as Intel has bettered themselves since the P4.
