Nice Post ! .......Really good article..... This card looks to be another winner, I like how they put it.....

Meet that mean little sister of the Radeon HD 5870... The 289 USD Radeon HD 5850 1024MB.

The 5850 seems to clock much much better than the 4850 also.
With some voltage we might see some of these break the 1Ghz barrier.

Depends how much you want to OC this card, on stock volts I think the stock cooler is fine.

I would, the 4890 is a newer card you should be able to get a good return on it when selling, the 5850 is going to be quiet a bit more powerful.

a voltage increase from 1.088v to 1.4v, meaning a boost from 725Mhz to 1050Mhz on the core, with the memory overclocking from the standard 4000Mhz to 5200Mhz! LOOOVE it!!

Don't think it be wise due to the angle of the GPU.. Id like to know if the old R600 cooler by Artic Cooling would fit the 58xx range lol ( properly not just a thought).

The cooler on the 5870 looks more powerful than the one on R600.
The fan on it is as much Dust Buster as my friends 4870X2
That is if you ever want that thing to run @100%.

Furmark Dust Buster Style.

Miss understanding here i'm not talking about stock coolers but 3rd party coolers.

This is the cooler i'm on about...
http://www.artic-cooling.com/catalog...me2900_01l.jpg

I dont know but how is the GPU placed is it the same as the 5870 ?.. if so the cooler you are on about is not going to fit 100% due to the angle of the chip.

The old R600 AC cooler MIGHT fit i am kinda surprised no one has said any thing yet lol.
