System Specs

Need a lower end card

ok my cosine says that her computer is having problems, with games she took a look at here graphics card she said it looks messed up and the fan broke so im pretty sure that her graphics card melted a bit.

All i know is that she has a single core CPU i think P D at 2.4ghz?
like 2gb of ram
a lowend MB.. MB has only a Pci E 16 not 2x
its in a sony
trying to stay under $75
SHE ONLY PLAYS WOW had to make sure people see that she plays i think around 1280x1024

i think a good upgrade card would be Sapphire 3870 or a Sapphire 4670 the 4670 is newer but i have looked and the 3870 i think out performs it in some things but its very close. i just dont know whats better she may have to get a new PSU hers is like a 305w no name

If you get the 4670 you won't need to purchase a new psu.

that is true that would help alot so probable a 4670.
i just remembered about the Sapphire 4650 its not as good as the 4670 but it is cheaper how much performance would you lose from the 4670 to the 4650?

There is some diffcerence but let me ask you this:

Do you know which resolution she plays the game at?

Saw the resolution in the OP. Go with a 4670.

Given the rest of her system, anything over a HD4670/4650 would probably be unnecessary and overkill.

a few of the 4650 models are quite good, they are the models with ddr3 and are just about as good as the 4670's and are like $5 cheaper lol, the models with ddr2 just plain suck

i do like that 4650 its nice and cheap later i will ask my cousin what she wants to spend its ether the Sapphire ddr3 4650 or the Sapphire 4670

The 4650 AGP DDR2 sucks even more with window 7

The initial drivers didn't install at all and the hotfix will install but won't render aero properly

My old radeon 9600 started to be a bit slow but at least it rendered everything, I'm thinking of putting it back and sending the 4650 back to the store unless they produce better drivers soon

Yes it does, a Sapphire 9600 AGP 128Mb works with windows 7 without problems, but not a brand new XFX HD 4650 1GB DDR2 AGP... well not totally...
