Anything better than the Z-5500 for the price ?

First, I am ashamed to admit, but I am somewhat of a sound n00b. I haven't owned a dedicated sound card since my 486 rig (Which didn't have sound in any other way, heh), so I am really clueless when it comes to those.

Seeing as I'm setting up a TV in my apartment (Actually dragging one over from my parent's place, but that's just as good, eh ?) and in general turning it to a normal place to live in after finishing up the hell that is my B.Sc, I am looking to buy a surround set of speakers. Now, I am not an audiophile, but I do enjoy my sound - So I am not planning on a 10k sound setup, but I do want something good.

Currently I have a set of Z-2300s which I enjoy a lot, but I want surround sound and the ability to connect the PS3 and PC to the same sound setup. In general, the sound system will be used for PC and PS3 gaming and for watching movies off both of them in just about any format known to man.

So....I've been thinking about the Logitech Z-5500 Digital - Opinions ? I could also use a dedicated sound card for my main rig to go along with it, any recommendations there ?

Thanks for all and any help !

Brb building a set based on the UK price.

Going to be 4.0 rather then 5.1 though.

I happen to own the Z-5500's and a very high spec separates system

I use my Z-5500's for everything; TV, Cable, PS3 and even my PC.

But, when I want a little more quality and power I use my separates setup...the Z-5500 is a very, very fine choice and I cant really complain about it in any way though.

Do I love mine? Yes.

Does it do everything anyone could want for the price? Absolutely.

Would I buy another? Without a doubt!

Buy one matey, you will love it...I assure you.

I'd rather get these
http://www.hifi-tower.co.uk/Beng-V9B...5_p1879_x2.htm

and a decent amp.

or this http://www.hifi-tower.co.uk/Koda-D85...5_p1705_x2.htm
and an average amp.
