GPU temp not working

Hi - I have been using Real Temp 3 for a while & found it v good.
After Windows Update, new nVidia driver 190.07, I've noticed the temp for GPU is 4391004C!
Have uninstalled it & reinstalled, same result.
Have tried beta 3.35 & that gives GPU temp as 0C

GPU-z gives temp of my 260 as 65C [its folding] so it's not the sensor on the card.
Think it might be the driver?

Try this.

This has be brought up alot over the past week or so, however the fix didnt work for me. Still, GPU-Z does the job.

Some time ago I wrote a bit of software to check the temperature of my low end mobile nVidia chip while overclocking it and have always wondered if it would work on other systems. If someone wants to try it I'd be interested to know. I've made just a basic message box, nothing fancy.

Thanks burebista, for some reason this post reminded me of late last year after I'd bought my notebook and was a little concerned with the GPU temperatures and ended up writing a little software to check the temps. While debugging I ran into some other functions that enabled GPU overclocking and was surprised at how easy it was to implement. No installation, no UAC / administration rights needed. A little scary that it can be done from userland (non-privileged).

I did think about writing something for the overclocking as at the time most of the available GPU overclocking software didn't work and ntune had problems installing, well at least for me. But only having the one GPU to work with and not knowing how the other GPU's might work I gave up on it other than a simple program for my own which has the overclocking values hard wired into it. For instance the mobile GPU I use uses 4 performance levels and I don't know if other cards work like this or differently. It's written as a 32-bit program but so far has worked under both 32-bit and wow64 with all the newer drivers I have tried. I wonder if Unclewebb would be interested, at least in the temperature if not the overclocking side of things?
