Not a lot, I'm sure. I was lucky to get $135 out of my 8800 GTS 640 a year and a half ago. Ebay is showing around $100 to $115.

I wouldn't pay more than about $100, and only if I wanted it for some silly reason.

For the legacy aspect alone I'd fork out a good $150 AUD for one.... These cards still look so mighty, and I bet one can still keep up today, adopters of two may even still be very happy with the perf, especially let loose on an i7.

^Well yeah I mean a 5770 should trounce an Ultra in most situations, Legacy/sexyness is pretty much it, but in terms of price, look to pay around about what you'd pay for equal performance in a new card, or even less.

Yup, they do perform. I've an 8800 GTX & an 8800 Ultra that I got for cheap and they are still very useable and very nice cards.

Just a shame they didn't design them for the full 512-bit bus and corresponding render units and a gig of RAM. Performance would have been even more demonic.

That sounds exactly like a GTX280
In reality, the GTX 280 built on 90nm Fab at that time will make a 2900XT Dual/X2 (if they ever made one) a joke in electicity bill.

Performance wise, they are about the same as a GTS250, aren't they? Stock I mean, I know the GTS250 overclocks better due to the 55nm vs. 90nm issue. But the Ultra's were beasts. I'd say $100 would be a fair price.

Well...
It needs to be a bit cheaper than that, you can get a 4850 for less than $100.
The 8800Ultra consumes way too much power for the same price of a 4850.

Yes, but where the 8800Ultra gains value is with people who want to pair it with another 8800GTX/Ultra or two. The fact that it has been discontinued for a while raises it's price, it is a rarity issue, you can't strictly compare it based on the numbers on paper.

People looking to buy a new single card won't pay $100 for one, but someone looking to pair it with a card they already have will, and with sales of older hardware like this, that is generally the people looking to buy these cards.

It all comes down to where and how quickly you want to sell it.

If you sell it on ebay, you can probably get $80-100 out of it after fees. If you sell it on a forum like this, you will probably get $70-80 out of it, unless you leave is sitting for a long while waiting for the right buyer wanting to pair a card they already have.
