A few words from a new 5k member.

Hey guys. As the title says, I am right on top of that big 'ol TPU milestone, the 5k landmark. I just thought id drop a thread here just to have a little say about TPU and to say thanks to a few people. Deep breath, here goes.

I joined November of 2007, back then I had just started to order components for my first build. It consisted of an ECS AM2 motherboard, an 8800GT, and a Athlon X2 5000+BE. I drained as much knowledge out of the community as possible, and continue to do so to this day. Having such a warm and helpful community surrounding me whilst I performed such a scary task (at the time) was comforting.

From there, I went on to make a thread that got stickied (im going to do a memorable links section at the bottom) surrounding first time builds, and since that time I aimed to assist the community in any way possible.

Around the time of completing my GCSE's, I took a huge step up and moved on to the P35 system with a P5K Premium Black Pearl edit., A Q6600 and a GTX 260. The P35 got flakey, so I upgraded to a P5Q Pro, and currently the main bits of that rig are still serving me well as I type. I have been through several cases, ranging from an Antec 900, A Thermaltake Armor Jr, A CM 690, and finally on to this £150 mercedes of cases, the Silverstone Fortress.

I made two extremely successful threads, the 5000+BE Journey and the Q6600 Journey thread. I have made a few guides and miniature reviews, the most notable the thread that got stickied, a USB install media thread, and so on.

So, overall ive had quite a journey here at TPU. Id like to say thanks to a few people too.

JrRacinFan - Jr you have been someone who has talked and been friendly with me since day 1. For that, I say thank you.

Erocker - I have always seen you as the most friendly, unbiased moderator on this forum. Im sure youve helped me on several occasions along the way, thank you.

ChickenPatty - We always used to have debates on the old athlons and C2Q's, however you seemed to drift away after taking that huge step up to i7.

Binge - We had a bit of a fall out, but thats what made us friends in the end. Thanks for the shout out in your video!

El Mayo - My god your a character. You always inspire me to make a funny comment, and then laugh myself. Always end up smiling after we have been posting to each other, cheers mate.

AlexP999 - despite his lack of presence on the forum as of late, I still talk to him every day. He's become a very close friend, helping me out in numerous jams, hard decisions and tough situations. For that I not only thank Alex, but also TPU for introducing me to such a good friend.

MoonPig - someone that went from posting once a week to becoming very active, always contributing in the P45 club and the modding club. Again, someone I talk to every day, hes become a very close friend, one I hope to keep for some time to come.

All the P45 club regulars - people like nexus, Dr Pepper, Red, Oli, and so on. All people that have undoubtedly helped me in jams, for that I say thank you.

All the Aussies on the forum! Yes, thats right, all my upside down friends in kangaroo land. Main people that spring to mind? Triprift of course, and that other guy . . . hmm . . . Muggles? no, erm muddles? MUSCLES?!?! Oh wait, yeah, lmao. Mussels of course! Om nom nom nom

And all the swiss guys. Yes Jedi Jew, that means you.

So, after all that, im not sure what to say. Currently im in a local college doing a national diploma in IT systems support / IT Practitioner, and I guess my career choice has been largely carved out by TPU - its mind blowing when I consider how much I have learnt in such a small space of time, and once again, all I can do is thank TPU and all its members for such an epic journey over 2 years.

Ok, so before I start crying like a music award acceptance speech, ill get on with the links bit and leave you lot to say your part

Installing Windows via a USB Flash Drive

Your PC ATM (epic thread)

TPU Cribs (brought me and binge together, made people know the faces of whom they were talking to on here)

Low Voltage Challenge thread (Always good to save money in economic downfall!)

MoonPig's Desk Mod (wish I could do something similar, such a good concept)

Any and every [FS] thread made by Fits. Just because I like to drool.

My 5000+BE Journey thread

My Q6600 Journey Thread

My Stickied First Build Advice Thread

Oh and finally, Id like to give a massive thanks to the guys crunching and folding for TPU. Myself and MoonPig were folding for a while, but due to electricity bills (and angry parents) we had to stop our production - I think we finished around 250k points - every little helps right?

Thanks guys, for everything over these past 2 years.

The funny accent-man did it! Grats on your 5k mark, and I think a lot of members can look back at a similar TPU based evolution like you.

So, whats your new fancy custom title then, huh?

Don't feel bad, MRCL, he left out the whole Hit Squad (W1zz, Dan and me).
Granted, we may not have helped him much, be we haven't killed him either.
