Abit AW9D-Max support GTX 280?

Hi everyone.
I just bought EVGA GTX 280. there's no bootup after I installed my new graphics card onto my motherboard. I'm using 500 w powersupply. I'm currently using 8800 gts .
Any thoughts ?

Danny

A decent 500W Power supply? Do you know it's amperage? if it was a cheapo with like 24A on a single rail.... that would be your answer.
