Enermax Releases Aurora Micro Wireless Keyboard+Trackball

Targeting HTPC buffs, Enermax rolled out its Aurora Micro Wireless keyboard. The device combines a compact keyboard with a high-precision trackball. Measuring 319 x 193 x 33 mm and weighing 800 g, the keyboard has a brushed metal shell, with diamond-cut edges. Being a micro keyboard, it trades the number pad for compactness. Some of the important keys are LED illuminated for convenience in the typically dark HTPC room. Besides the 7 hotkeys, there is a full-fledged high-precision trackball with a 1200 dpi sensor, two buttons, and a 2-way scroll-wheel. The wireless technology operates in the 2.4 GHz range, with an operating range of 10 m. The keyboard is powered by two AA batteries. On sale now, the Enermax Aurora Micro Wireless is selling for 75 EUR.

They don't even come close for that matter, at lease Logitech knows how to make keyboards.

Nice to see Enermax branch out, but really, I don't see a need for this KB, even for CAD/Graphics.

It's good for a remote like keyboard for an htpc. I've got a plastic one of similar design (which cost less than 1/3 of that...) and it's not so bad to use, definitely helps make it a compact size and it's nice to have a mouse that doesn't need a flat surface to use.

Though that price is prohibitive... I understand it's got a fancy finish, but 75 euro is tons of money for a keyboard.... especially not even a bluetooth one with all sorts of fancy bits.

so just comfort and convenience reasons then? lol sounds like a waste imo. Do think it'd be fun to play CSS or L4D with a trackball for kicks, anyone ever play an FPS with a trackball?

I think 75EUR is a bit steep, but I guess I have no say in that.
Nifty looking thing, but I guess you can get cheaper, better keyboards.
Plus I'm all for a separate mouse. But I like their idea incorporating a trackball into it.

No, but I've played them with "the dot". It was awful.

The trackball isnt made for gaming or anything. Its meant so you dont need a mouse for being in places like sitting on your couch watching a movie ect. I agree that this is extremely steep considering its NOT bluetooth, it dosent have rechargeable batteries, its heavy compared to conventional plastic keyboards, and it dosent seem that small.
