looking for some pointers

im looking into buying a new MOBO and ram cause i just bought a Phenom II X4 955 BE
was wondering if anyone had any insight?


my setup now is as follows :


MSI K9A2-CF-F
Phenom II X4 955 BE
Mushkin 4GB DDR2-800 Dual Silver
WD 250GB HDD
NZXT PP-800 800 watr 2.0 PSU
2 Sapphire HD3870 512mb GDDR4

System Specs

Those are all great boards. I would also include the MSI 790FX-G70 as an option too. MSI 790GX and 790FX are leaps and bounds better than previous series of high end products. It is also a solid board with a number of great options. All those boards are DDR3 which means you will need to buy new RAM. Out of the three, I would get the Gigabyte for most bang for you buck.

My insight would be you should be prepared for a OS reinstall when you change the mobo. Too many things about the system will change for the OS to adapt to it.
