What OS were you coming from?

I upgraded to Windows 7 on the 26th (soonest after the release of a new M$ operating system I have ever purchased it). I'm one of those people who didn't like Vista and has stubbornly been using XP since it was first released. Normally, I would never pay $150 for a new OS, but I could get it for $30 because I'm a student, so I decided to do so. I had used the Beta and RC for extended periods of time and enjoyed them, so I knew what I was purchasing. My reaction to 7 is it is wonderful. I love Aero, the new taskbar is excellent, and I find it easier to do things that I have always done before on XP. I chose Windows 7 Professional x64 because it was the same price as Home Premium

I'll rate 7:
Ease of use: 8/10
Price: 11/10
Looks: 8/10 (there are some things Compiz-Fusion for Linux has the 7 still doesn't)
New Taskbar: 7/10 (sometimes confusing, I'm still getting used to it)
Security: 7/10 (I'm not really convinced it's better than XP, just remember to use antivirus and a firewall and don't download stupid things )
UAC: 6/10 Still bad, I disabled it
Total: 47/60, or 78%. Despite the "C" grade, I quite like Windows 7, and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it to anyone. There are just a few things I'm still getting used to or I dislike (UAC, I'm looking at you), or things that I'm not convinced were really improved on since XP. I still haven't explored all of the new features of 7, life is getting in the way
