Well from their business standpoint a popular game franchise, such as COD, would be a perfect candidate for a MMO. Would mean that they no longer have to try to please the PC crowd, which it would inevitably do regardless. Monthly payments, DLC, and they figure the name sells itself. It would fail in the long run because once people hit cap…there’s nothing special to do and the game would die out fast. You’d also get the 15 year olds compairing it to WoW and spamming global chat that it will never last. I for one would never pay monthly for a COD game or any hybrid FPS/3RDPS (Global Agenda) because huge clans and zerg guilds would just wreck the game for most people alienating the casual gamer. I’m not saying people wouldn’t play…I just doubt they would pay monthly for it.

If a COD MMO ever came out I give it 15 months tops before servers shut down.

honestly, if they did this right i could see this being highly sucessfull
instead of giving mobs massive hp, just give them some body armor and better ai
make the players use more tactics to killl mobs rather then sitting and nblasting away at them or something like that

This is already done in many MMO's, armor plays a significant role in almost all of them, nothing new.

i know what you mean, but your not thinkin along the same lines i am

im not talking AC

im talking real armor effects, like the body armor blocks a few bullets, but cant block ap bullets
this wouldnt, in effect, give more hp, just let terrorists take more hits, unless they were being shot at with ap bullets

hence tactics comes into play more(flanking, shot placement, etc), and not just "hack and slash"

now, in most mmo's there are tactics to deal with agro and such, where some classes get behind or to the side of mobs, and that also effects their damage, but thats not what im talking about. such tactics would(or should) have no place in a cod mmo

im refering to more real life firefight tactics, modified for use in online play, like what we currently see in cod4mw mp, just geared more for taking out ai
it would basically be a massive co-op, with more character developement and equipment. like i said, like a highly evolved deus ex

COD is now character based its about following a few characters like Price or whoever. How this can translate to the world of MMO is beyond me.
I wonder if it would be a third or first person affair or top down 3rd person.

They only said they would like micro transactions on COD franchise so i dunno if that necessarily means a MMO or just making us pay for multiplayer?
