How many rads to cool 2 Nehalem chips 24/7
They will be doing 24/7 floating point calculations, so expect 100% usage.
I want to keep them cool, cooler than the bloody stock heatsinks. On another note, not having used these chips before, do they use their own crazy bolt through heatsinks, or snap downs like their standard i7 counterparts? I was figuring at least a triple if not dual triple 120mm rads would be needed.

One MO-RA 2 will cool them both. It's a 9x120mm radiator. They have crappy push pin coolers.

Two 240's will do it very well, and the chipsets/video/REGS
Pump, Chipset/regs/radiator/CPU/Video/Radiator/CPU/Res I want to redo my loop when my next video card is ready. Add in a split off two 3/8 and cool my chipsets. One 360 triple core is enough that I don't see much variance in any temp with 1/2 tubing.

Which Xeons are you using? Doesn't take much to cool the 80w/95w models.
And yes, they use heatsink that screws directly into the motherboard tray of a compatible case or plates can use used. Some boards come with them, some heatsinks as well. I don't know if a push-pin heatsink is compatible or not. |
