Thanks for the posts guys, stanhemi has been going through hell to get his rig running flawlessly for a while now. Now he faces this issue. I am trying to get him a board for really cheap or maybe free, but I don't know if I'll be able to . So keep posting him some offers

i have an asus rampage formula (x48 chipset) that i'm trying to get rid off. thread is here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=98783

the BIOS is easy to use/figure out (even for noobs like me ). it should be able to get your q9550 to 4.0 easily, and maybe even beyond. if you're gonna crossfire, it'll use both pci-e x16 at full x16 power (instead of x16/x4 or x8/x8). and it still uses the trusty ol' DDR2 memory.
