Need help to decide on which type of Corsair PSU to buy

From advice I got here, I'm set on getting a Corsair PSU.

From Scan (Malta) I found only the 850W Corsair TX Series ATX 4x PCI-E/8x SATA Power Supply which costs €142.

The same PSU from OcUK will cost me €149 with shipping included, so buying it from OcUK is out of the question for obvious reasons.

However OcUK do have the same PSU as the one above but 750W at €135.17.

Were it just for that, I'd go for the €142 one.

But OcUK also stock modular versions of both 750W and 850W PSU's while ScanMalta do not.

The modular 750W would cost me €152.30...
And the modular 850W would cost €166.00

Which one would you buy?

Corsair make great PSUs regardless. While you can't go wrong with the TX...I’d go with the HX (modular) due to personal preference and less clutter!

Get the 850 modular.
For that small of a increase in price its a no brainer.

Meaning any efficiency loss is negligible?

I'd go with the 750HX modular, it's almost 2010..... I doubt you'd ever tip upon using 800+ watts.....

Wouldn't the 850 be more effecient as it would be using less of it's potential output as compared to the 750? And does it really matter with Corsair PSUs?

I always thought most PSUs are most efficient when you are using/or your system is using idle40% and about 80%load of the max/total wattage.

I´m for HX series. I have 850W.. great PSU (made by CWT), otherwise.. buy Seasonic, if you can.. one of best too.

HPM computer (Germany) ask them, if they can ship to you.. they are usually very friendly (at least they were for me). And they have quite nice HW.. plus prices ain´t terrible..
