Dead Space 2 Officially Announced

I really need to play the first one.....

Quote:
Dead Space 2 Officially Announced

Visceral Games--formerly known as EA Redwood Shores--today made the unsurprising formal announcement of Dead Space 2, sequel to its 2008 sci-fi horror-shooter.
The imaginatively-titled sequel had already been revealed through EA statements and various job listings--including one for a "Senior Online Level Designer."

Dead Space's mute protagonist Isaac Clarke will return in the sequel with "new tools to gruesomely slice and dismember," and new supporting characters as he "[takes] the fight to the Necromorphs" and apparently "this time, he calls the shots."

"The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing," explained executive producer Steve Papoutsis in a press statement. "In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you."

Dead Space 2 is under development for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with no mention made of a release date. Visceral Games is currently working on the bizarre action allegory Dante's Inferno and a Dead Space movie is also in the pipeline.

I wonder if they will include DX11? Heck what about better support for AMD video cards this time?

Agreed, I need to play the first one. I have a lot of catching up to do for sequels. Late 2009/Early 2010 is the year of the sequel, no?

For those of you that haven't yet played the first one... I HIGHLY recommend playing in the dark, alone, and with surround sound. Sleep deprived and jacked up on caffine is a plus too.

Loved dead space two. I actually got a decent set of speakers just so I could be truly terrified when playing it.

This was one of the most amazing games I've played in 08' I can't wait for the sequel.

I don't think I've played a horror game with high quality ass kicking sound like this one.

Thats how I play all Horror games, minus the caffeine. I want to be scared not jittery.

Yes their was an animated film made for it call Dead Space: Downfall. If you want to watch it, watch before you play the game as it is a prequel. It suffered by a plot that was too fast pace and no explaination, mainly because it was for people who want to play the game. It has no plot spoilers in it.

This statement bothers me. I hate every escort mission in ever horror and action game ever. Except MS1 because it was nice to have a human shield. And this statement seems to imply people will be with me "watching my back".

I liked the video. It kinda helped with the story in the game I thought. I loved the gameplay and the scaryness of the game but I thought the character (Isaac Clarke) was uninteresting.

I hope thatb "supporting" characters means similar interaction like in Dead Space 1.
I don't have any intention to drag some retarded NPC's around the levels.

I wouldn't mind dragging them along so long as they are expendable

DO NOT do as he said. It'll fuck you up.

Play in a well lit room during day time with sound off, hahaha.

The scariest game of all time was Silent Hill 2. But I am bias cause the lead characters name is the same as mine and the creepy off people would whisper my name a lot.
