Low Clock Speeds Reported on Secondary 5850 card

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody can answer this question....

I have 2 newly fitted crossfire'd ati radeon 5850's fitted in my machine. I ran GPU-Z last night to ensure all was looking good, on the first card as expected core speed 725MHz, memory 1000Mhz, problem however is with the secondary one. It reported much lower speeds with a core of about 125Mhz and memory of around 300MHz.

Anybody have any idea what might cause that? Is it a problem with the software? with my configuration or a feature of the crossfire standard maybe when the machine isnt doing much and it powers down.

Any comments appreciated ?

Thanks

looks like the 2d idle clocks. are they shown on the main tab like this or on the sensors tab ?

The main page has the values correct, it's on the sensors tab where I noticed the slow speed.

Is it just a feature of the cards to clock themselves down ?

System Specs

as the tooltip shows, the sensor page shows realtime clock speeds. it is a feature of most current graphics cards to clock down when they are idle to save power

Just seemed odd that it was only the secondry one showing the lower clock speeds and not the primary one, the mahcine wasn't doing anything just browsing the net etc...
