The H50 is a good unit. It easily rivals the top of the line Air coolers.. IE: Noctua NH-D14 (their latest release) -- these two are about on par. The H50 is cheaper.
I've used both on this system, and I cannot get any higher with the Noctua than I did with my H50, but at the same time I am not limited by the Noctua. If that makes sense. ![]() I only changed out from the H50 because of noise. I have CM HAF 932 Case, and the airflow is so open in this case that you can easily hear what noises are going on inside. The H50 does have a water pump, of course, and that water pump does make a SLIGHT noise. Not really audilble in a standard case that doesn't have alot of openings and perforations for the thing to breath like the CM HAF 932. So I just started getting annoyed with the buzzing of the pump, and yanked it for a 140mm/120mm heatsink fan combo that does about equal (maybe slightly better in some sitations).. cooling, and now no more buzz. But for 9/10th's of people the H50 is going to be considered dead silent opeation. I still have the H50, it is a solid prebuilt unit, fairly easy to install , and comes with a fan that plugs into the CPU header that will ramp up speed if temps on your Proc. cores start to climb. IE: Heavy usage/Prime95/FAH .. whatever.. Example: On the H50 I ran this machine stable at 4.1Ghz -- and it is an Intel i5-750 2.66Ghz Quad Core proc. Temps at max load in something like prime torture would run high 60's, sometimes breaking 70c on hot ambient temps. But perfectly safe. I'm still OC'ed now with the Noctua I just backed it down to 3.5Ghz to not be pressing the 'edge' of the temp scale as I run a GPU and CPU SMP client of FAH 24/7 on this thing. (IE: Not too fond of a personal space heater going as a result -- which leads into why I switched to the HAF 932 in the first place.. but I digress) Bottom line, H50 is definitely a steal. Especially for those worried about WC'ing and leaking, and headaches. Corsair is good about RMA'ing should the system leak in the first 2 years anyway.. and I've only heard of that happening one time,.. without any evidence (picture wise) from a member on their forums. |

Temps are great, I have a Matx case so it is the perfect cooler for it. The rad is actually a lot smaller than I thought it would be.
Haven't Oc'd yet, probably won't as I really don't need to.. ![]() This thing flys

H20 is the stuff flowing through the H50 that cools the processor.
![]() Anyways, I'd be all over this if I still had a quad-core Deneb chip. My Zalman just cannot handle an overclocked 965 C2. However, the Propus chip is the coolest running chip I've ever used. It doesn't get past 36 idle heavily overclocked, and at load, it doesn't pass 47C. This is on the Zalman, as well!

If I disable KIS 2010 firewall, I can view the link.
I am not saying there is anything wrong with the link or website, but why would Kaspersky block it? |
