Large parts of rural America severely hurt by lack of broadband service

The least-served areas encompass entire states and regions, the report found, especially in the Plains and the Midwest, the parts of America that are the farthest from big urban centers: all of the Dakotas, eastern Montana, northern Minnesota, eastern Oregon, the Missouri-Iowa border and nearly all of Appalachia.

My OPINION-
Here I thought ISPs were blaming BitTorrent users... I bet its the ISPs just being lazy?

I couldn't see myself supporting a game developer like IW. If they basically give fans the finger then why shouldn't the fans give them the same thing back? I say go for your life and pirate it.

Although games in Australia cost upwards of $100 RRP, it's dead easy to get them for $60-$70 from the UK which is what I do for almost all of my games.

We already paid billions in the 90's for good internets with no results other than the phone companies investing that into the joint ventures to bring bundle packages with damning early termination fees and out of term fees.

i got charged a " one time fee" on my seventh month bill of $2.99 sounds like little, but the number of people billed a extra 2.99 is enormous.

3 millin in denver, and almost all on Qwest? 9 Million dollars extra for someone to have. Fuck that, i called and had it reversed with litigation threats. That is hurting us more, not a game that we can live without.

1,000,000,000,000,000 miles away and if it is still downloading at a decent rate what do you care? Steam and the games we legally download aren't the matter. The dirty hippies who download everything once they get a taste of it and continue to do so are the problem. I know people still using limewire, that was early 200 when it was good for something. Now it is just crap and bad porn.

Not sure that's going to go down well...

Some games require online registration or a serial key and most key gens dont provide working online keys.

As i said a few games will work not all though.

Mods where made to MW2 so you can do anything, even play online but that is seriously on the edge of illegal talk.

Piracy has been and always will be there. And not by convicts but by ever single person of whatever disposition. I refuse to believe nobody has ever copied a cassette in the walkman days, used part of someone's work for a school essay or any other form of it. Piracy is not a modern internet phenomenon, although it is now possibly on a larger scale than ever before.

Bittorrent is a legitimate protocol. The internet should have freedom of speech and content. Pirates will always be there. And they're not all convicts either, they are more likely to be average Joe and Jane.

If this current crusade against piracy continues by developers and industry leaders, the victims will also be average Joe and Jane when governments and ISPs decide to start censoring things to "protect us".

Let there be piracy. Let there be more affordable legitimate offers. At some point there has to be a balance.

But, waitaminute . . .

The software developers are not the ones who set the retail pricing of their game - the publisher does that. Why punish the game developer for the pricing?

Besides, everyone complaining about paying $60 for a freekin game . . . c'mon! How long have y'all been gaming? Games have stayed roughly the same price over the last 20 years, with only a small increase due to inflation. I can clearly remember games for PC, NES, SNES and such (back in the early 90s) sitting on the shelf for about $50 - no matter what the console. As well, console prices have remained about steady, too.

I'm sorry, but this ongoing BS about piracy contributing to a "rise" in new game pricing is exactly that . . . BS. There has been a slight increase in pricing due to inflation, and due to development costs, and that's about it.

In all actuality, if one really wants to take inflation into heavy consideration, the pricing of games has actually gone down over the years. If you payed $40 for a NES game way back in 1987, by todays standards that'd equate to a little over $75.

As far as the price argument is concerned, it's tripe, y'all . . . absolute tripe. QUIT USING GAME PRICING AS AN EXCUSE FOR PIRACY!!!

Nothing condones piracy, at all. Go ahead, continue to download illegal game copies, and then never get off your ass and make a legit purchase. All your doing is contributing to the bad reputation that certain markets already have, and are continuing to push software developers to more legit platforms.

If you can't afford a game - don't steal it. Save your freekin money.

If you're not happy with a software developer, because they cut key features from a game - don't download a pirated copy in protest . . . simply DON'T PLAY THE FREEKIN GAME.

I agree with some of the reasons to "boycott" MW2, especially considering the lack of dedicated servers and other errata, but I will not purchase nor D/L this title. My protest is giving both the title, and IW, a nice big "FU."

PC games in the UK might be pricey on the shelves but online damn you can get most new titles cheap.

Mass effect 2 for example amazon.co.uk
£26.99 -PC
£37.99 -Xbox 360

I dont know why but the pc is not used as much for gaming as it used to be, stupid because its cheaper in the software department.

Piracy is not cool but everyone does it now and again, I try to tell people that there is a difference between doing it a few times and not buying dvds at all and just using torrents.

WORSE than diy piracy is buying copies from someone, i mean come on if its free dont pay someone to get it for free then sell it to you! I have to wait for it to download that is a moronic excuse that people give me all the time when they buy pirated material. Thats like me taking free coupons and selling it to a guy in the pub when i could just tell him where to go and get the coupons.

Its the stats that the topic is about not the morals of piracy.

i didnt use game price at all

my point is im not buying the game im just buying the right to use that game 2 different things

last i checked it was my money i have the right to make back ups of things i own but because of DRM u cant make a back up as its now illegal are own laws contridict themselves are own us government can commit piracy and cracking of legit software and declare immunity

you keep going on about price i dont care about price so much as i do about me BUYING the game with my money and being told i DONT own it at all thats what pisses me off and valves own findings have proven that if prices were lowered overall game sales would increase meaning MORE profit then they current make with the current tiered system

of $59 $49 $39 $29 $19
