Is the CCC 6.4 overclocking tool any good?

I never use official ATi drivers or CCC, but after a format I decided to give them a try and noticed that the CCC has an overclocking function now. So whats it like? say compared to ATiTool.

If my memory serves me correctly it had the O/C feature on 6.3 also. I used it for a short while when I first got my 850xt but it limited me at the upper end, when I realised just what I could achieve with my card and the NV Silencer 5 Rev 2 or whatever the beast is called (comes as stock on my HIS ICEq II)I went over to ATI tool as it did not have the limiter.

Thats said, I had no problems with it at all and it was stable as a rock, I would suggest its a good solution to anyone who is using stock cooling and therefore perhaps not achieving BIG overclocks.

with x850 cards atiool is way better.. with x1000 series cards i am not so sure..

but from a simple raising the core and memory speeds it does pretty much the same thing.. its always been there even in the old control panel but it needed something called coolbits or something to enable the option in the windows registry..

thow with my x1900 card the gain i get from useing it seems more than the simple speed increase suggests i should get.. a relatively small increase of 40 on the core and 50 on the memory gives me an extra 1500 point in 3D 2005.. this is way more than it should be from such small speed increase.. as to why i dont know.. it might alter memory timings as well.. but i am only guessing..
